The latest Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer is jam-packed with new gameplay, such as picnics, making sandwiches, creating TMs, battling Tera Raids and Titan Pokemon, and much more. However, it only officially reveals one new Pokemon across its fourteen-minute playtime, with that being the long-awaited evolution of Girafarig, Farigiraf. Eagle-eyed fans actually found a couple more though.
Throughout the trailer, the minimap for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s Paldea is present though it shows very little. It wouldn’t seem nearby Pokemon would pop up on it, but perhaps that was edited out, as for a brief second, fans can see not one, not two, but three new Pokemon clearly evident on the minimap. What’s more, these new Pokemon icons are accompanied by what’s clearly a Rookidee, meaning it’s a pretty good look at these new Pokemon.
Up first are two Mouse Pokemon, which appear to have no mouth. They are an entirely white body and are a pretty generic depiction of what a Mouse would look like. Indeed, they sort of look like Mickey Mouse if he were completely white with no clothes on. The second one appears to be a green parakeet Pokemon, with perhaps a black rock on its head, and the third appears to be some form of Mushroom-like house.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEADThese Pokemon may seem a little out of the blue for those only keeping up with official news on Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which has been sparse, but for those keeping up with the leaks, these Pokemon had not only been mentioned before but with more context. For example, it’s known that the mouse evolution line sees it become a “mouse family.” In other words, it’s possible these two mice are actually one Pokemon or that they are joined by others in their evolution. The parakeet Pokemon had previously leaked, but it’s pretty much self-explanatory. Meanwhile, the third Pokemon may still be the most confusing, but it seems to be the Salt Pokemon from the leaks.
According to the massive Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Paldean Pokedex leak, the mouse Pokemon is a dual type, where the only known typing is normal. The parakeet Pokemon is a dual normal/flying-type, and the Salt Pokemon is a pure rock type.
It seems these Pokemon weren’t meant to be in the trailer, instead appearing only briefly in what should have likely been edited out. However, it’s all fans are getting for now until Game Freak and The Pokemon Company decide to reveal them in full for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release on November 18 for Nintendo Switch.
