Xbox Game Pass Confirms New Day One Game Somerville for November 2022

[ad_1]

The Somerville release date announcement has confirmed that the atmospheric indie game is coming to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription on November 15 as a day one release. Microsoft itself has yet to announce all the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass for November 2022, but release date announcements have let fans know of at least seven games that will be added throughout next month.

On November 1, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can check out The Legend of Tianding, while November 3 will see the addition of Ghost Song. Football Manager 2023 will join Xbox Game Pass on November 8 as a day one game. November 15 will be an especially exciting day for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as that’s when Obsidian’s latest project, Pentiment, joins Game Pass as a day one release, joined by the aforementioned Somerville.

Somerville, for the uninitiated, is the debut effort of new indie studio Jumpship. Jumpship was founded by Dino Patti, who previously worked at Playdead, the studio behind critically-acclaimed games like Limbo and Inside. Considering the success of Limbo and Inside, there are high expectations for Somerville to deliver a similar level of quality, and with the game now confirmed to launch on November 15 as a day one Xbox Game Pass game, the wait to find out if it lives up to expectations is nearly at an end.

New Xbox Game Pass Games for November 2022

  • The Legend of Tianding – November 1
  • Ghost Song – November 3
  • Football Manager 2023 – November 8
  • Pentiment – November 15
  • Somerville – November 15
  • Gungrave GORE – November 22
  • Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (PC Game Pass) – November 30

Fans of Playdead’s Inside and Limbo should find a lot to like about Somerville, as it’s structurally a very similar game. Somerville is a side-scrolling game with no dialogue and horror vibes, as players try to survive in a post-apocalyptic Earth. Players can expect to solve puzzles and complete platforming challenges, just like Inside and Limbo, though one key difference is Somerville has multiple playable characters.

Time will tell if Somerville can meet the high bar set by its predecessors, but in the meantime, Xbox Game Pass subscribers have even more new games to look forward to in November 2022. A week after Pentiment and Somerville join the Game Pass lineup, Gungrave GORE hits the service on November 22. Then on November 30, PC Game Pass subscribers can check out Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. A console version of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is planned, but has been delayed to a later, unspecified date.

Of course, there will be even more new Xbox Game Pass games for November 2022 besides the ones listed here, but subscribers will have to wait for the official announcement from Microsoft to learn more.

Somerville launches November 15 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
