Evil West publisher Focus Entertainment has confirmed the performance details across all of the game’s platforms. The game will run Full HD (1080p) or 4K UHD at 30fps on most platforms, although performance mode is an option for the PlayStation 5 gamers that wants 60fps. Previously the Evil West publishing team at Focus Entertainment released the minimum requirements and recommended system specifications for the PC version of the game.
Evil West is a western game in a universe brimming with evil monsters. Players step in the boots of Jesse Rentier, one of the few vampire hunters left in the desolate world. His missions is to protect the American Frontier from the onslaught of vampires and other devilish beings. The game is developed by Flying Wild Hog, which is most notable for the Shadow Warrior franchise.
To follow up last week’s announcement on PC specs requirements, the Evil West publisher has now revealed the performance details on all of its other platforms. The game will be available on this and previous generation Sony and Microsoft consoles, and there are some difference between the resolutions and framerates, as one might expect. All previous generation consoles, which includes Xbox One, Xbox One S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro, will run Evil West on Full HD 1080p and at 30 frames per second. However, Focus Entertainment has added a note that the PlayStation 4 Pro version of the game will include improved graphical quality compared to PS4. There is no word on whether Xbox version will have a similar fidelity to PS4 or PS4 Pro.
In terms of Evil West‘s gameplay details on current gen consoles, there are additional differences. Xbox Series S seems to be on par with previous generation in terms of resolution and framerate. The tweet doesn’t, again, specify whether the graphics quality is on par with previous generation Xbox consoles, PS4, or PS4 Pro. Considering the better performance, one would expect the quality to be at least on par with the best previous generation consoles, likely above it.
Both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will get 2160p resolution, colloquially 4K UHD, at 30 fps with the addition of a performance mode for those that enjoy better framerates. This allows players to choose to play the game in Full HD 1080p at 60fps. Previously Focus Entertainment confirmed that PC gamers should have at least an Intel Core i5-2500K, 8 GB RAM, and GeForce GTX 750 Ti to take on vampire smashing in Evil West in Full HD at 30fps. Recommended system for 60fps is Intel Core i5-10505, 16 GB RAM, and GeForce GTX 1060, or AMD equivalent.
Evil West is set to release on November 22 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
